THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CALIFORNIA - This site is dedicated to exposing the continuing Marxist Revolution in California and the all around massive stupidity of Socialists, Luddites, Communists, Fellow Travelers and of Liberalism in all of its ugly forms.

"It was a splendid population - for all the slow, sleepy, sluggish-brained sloths stayed at home - you never find that sort of people among pioneers - you cannot build pioneers out of that sort of material. It was that population that gave to California a name for getting up astounding enterprises and rushing them through with a magnificent dash and daring and a recklessness of cost or consequences, which she bears unto this day - and when she projects a new surprise the grave world smiles as usual and says, "Well, that is California all over."

Being Republican is a family affair

Betty Ng isn't just a proud delegate at the Republican National Convention this week, she's a proud parent.

Her son, Darrel Ng, recently joined Mitt Romney's presidential effort as an aide to vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan's campaign. Ng's wife Jessica is also working for the Romney campaign.

"I just am very grateful that my children share the values we have," Betty Ng said, citing strong work ethic and fairness.

Being at the convention is also special for Ng and her husband Joseph, an alternate delegate. Both Montebello Republicans immigrated to America from Hong Kong as young adults. They said they were excited to be part of the political process in the country that provided them with many opportunities.

The younger Ng couple, also in Tampa this week, recently moved to Boston from Sacramento, where both worked on statewide campaigns and legislative offices over the years. They met through their jobs in the Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger administration.   (Sacramento Bee)

Jerry Brown extorts money to raise your taxes

Extortion  -  Jerry Brown makes Corporations an offer they can't refuse
  • Democrat Jerry Brown is shaking down California corporations to raise campaign money for Prop. 30 to raise our taxes.
  • Pony up the campaign bucks or your industry gets fucked.
  • Democrats will sink to any level in order to steal money to fund the Marxist Welfare State.

Some of the largest corporate have poured millions of dollars into an initiative to raise personal income and sales taxes in the People's Republic of California.

In return for bankrolling an $8-billion-a-year tax hike pushed by Comrade Governor Jerry Brown these corporation's industries will be left alone.

Since taking office more than 18 months ago, the Democratic governor has held dozens of meetings with such unnatural allies as oil companies, insurers and telecommunications interests letting them know who is in charge of the state reports the Los Angeles Times.

To bribe them, Brown offered not to push new taxes on oil extraction, soft drinks or alcohol if they backed his sales and income tax increases.

Comrade Brown wants a quarter-cent hike in sales taxes and an increase of 1 to 3 percentage points on individual incomes of job creators who make more than $250,000.

Labor unions and Democratic lawmakers spent almost $7 million qualifying Proposition 30 for the ballot.

In addition to the energy corporations, insurance companies and telecommunications companies, hospitals, movie studios and utilities have also opened their checkbooks. Many of these groups have an interest in bills pending in the Legislature that may go to the governor for his signature or veto.

Businesses are in fear that Socialist Democrats will push additional taxes on oil, alcohol or other items that could be among Brown's next options if voters reject his initiative.

  • Alcohol and oil have also been popular tax targets. Democratic lawmakers have long sought an extraction levy on oil pumped in California, similar to what Alaska, Texas and other oil-producing states charge.  Oil interests have given more than $800,000 to the Yes on 30 campaign, led by Occidental Petroleum, which has contributed $500,000.

  • Other groups have given as they have backed, or tried to block, bills moving through the Legislature. Zuffa Inc., a company that promotes mixed martial arts, has been trying to stop a bill that would increase regulation on mixed martial arts fighting in California. The firm donated $50,000.

  • Timber interests have contributed $25,000 to Brown's campaign as the governor has pushed legislation to limit liability in wildfire lawsuits.

The California Republican Party is bankrupt

Bankrupt
California GOP Chairman Tom Del Beccaro runs a party that is bankrupt.

The Libertarian Party opens a new headquarters in Sacramento as the GOP closes their offices and fires workers
  • The GOP goes into the elections totally bankrupt.
  • The California Republican Party is run by fucking morons.

Just weeks before the November election, the California Republican Party is so awash in red ink that its board has approved laying off staff and vacating the party's main headquarters in Sacramento,  reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

The crisis emerged after state party officials, facing an $850,000 shortfall, fell behind in rent, phone bills, payments to Internet vendors and printers, and worried they would have to cut employees' health care insurance payments, according to several Republican sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The Libertarian Party is opening
an HQ while the GOP is broke.

Since then, party officials have reportedly negotiated down the debt, but campaign finance reports are expected to show the California GOP to be at least $450,000 in the red, multiple sources said.

After the state party's board of directors on July 10 approved a plan to close the office, sources said party leaders have made frantic efforts to maintain a Sacramento presence - trying to negotiate a downsized office with four staff members paid by state legislative leaders.

As the debt-saddled California Republican Party is closing its Sacramento headquarters, another political party was quietly making moves to expand its presence in the state capital.

"Two-hundred thirty-six years after the Continental Congress set our nation on a bold experiment in representative government, the Libertarian Party of California embarked on its own bold experiment Monday, July 2, 2012, opening a new office in Sacramento," the state Libertarian Party announced on its website this week. reports the Sacramento Bee.

"The hypothesis of the experiment is that close proximity to California's Capitol will aid the Party in it's efforts to fulfill its purposes as stated in Bylaw 2," the post added. (The misspelled it's is in the original.)

For those unfamiliar with the party's bylaws, that one defines the party's purpose and activities, such as recruiting new members, endorsing and promoting presidential nominee Gary Johnson and other Libertarian candidates, and "developing an on-going political strategy to identify, expose, combat, and defeat the opponents of liberty in the political arena."

The California Libertarian Party, which claims it is the state's fastest-growing political party, now occupies a suite in building on 7th and L streets -- just six blocks away from Republicans' scaled-back operations. At last count, 93,657 Californians had registered as Libertarians, or 0.55 percent of the state's 17.1 million registered voters.

Democrats kill lawsuit reform bill

It took Democrats less than 24 hours to kill a bill to limit environmental lawsuits.
The courts have nothing to do with justice.  The courts are designed to line the
pockets of attorneys with money.  Nothing more.  Nothing Less.

Legal Corruption in California  -  Scumbag lawyers run the state legislature and write laws so everyone can be raped by the court system 24-7.
  • Democrats kill a bill to stop endless environment lawsuits that kill job creation.
  • After all unemployment and government dependency are far more important than jobs.

That sure didn’t take long. Less than a day after state Senator Michael Rubio started lining up co-authors for last-minute legislation to restrict litigation under California’s environmental-protection laws, the Bakersfield Democrat announced early Thursday afternoon that he would not pursue the bill.

The proposal, which just surfaced at the Capitol on Wednesday, had support from several Orange County Republicans, including Huntington Beach Assemblyman Jim Silva, who had just officially signed on to co-author the proposal Thursday morning reports the Orange County Register.

Just a few hours later, Rubio stood before reporters with Democrat Senate Leader Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, and said that, out of deference to the legislative process and the institution of the Legislature, he will hold off on reform issue and pursue it again next year, instead of in the final day of the legislative session, which concludes Aug. 31.

Said Steinberg: “This law, for all of its strengths and its faults, is far too important to rewrite in the last days of the session.”

Steinberg Translation:  "Fucking Hell no.  Lawsuit reform is dead on arrival.  Environmental lawsuits are the Full Employment Act for lawyers.  We'll streamline the process over my dead body."

Rubio said the sudden about face was made by himself and the coalition backing the bill — which included the Orange County Business Council — in consultation with Steinberg after considering the “dynamics of the building.”

Even before Rubio’s proposal surfaced, more than 30 Democratic lawmakers sent Steinberg and Assembly Speaker John A. Perez, D-Los Angeles, a letter saying they’re concerned about proposals to weaken CEQA.

California needs more jobs, not more lawsuits
A "legal" system designed by and for lawyers.  Justice has nothing to do with the courts.

Howard Jarvis group attacks Brown's tax increases

The Tax Wars Begin
  • The first of many anti-tax ads hits the airwaves.
  • Socialist Democrats want into your pants and into your wallet.

The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is up with its second radio advertisement against Comrade Governor Jerry Brown's November ballot initiative to raise taxes, comparing Brown's tax campaign to street robbery.

"Hey, lady, hand over your purse or the schools get it," a voice at the top of the ad says.

The ad, an issue-advocacy spot running statewide beginning today, comes as the Democratic governor begins in earnest to campaign for Proposition 30, his proposal to raise the state sales tax and income taxes on California's highest earners. The Democratic governor has characterized the election as a choice between higher taxes and $5.4 billion in cuts to schools and community colleges.

JARVIS RADIO AD HIGH SPEED RAIL

The taxpayers group declined to say how much money is behind the ad, which is replacing a previous one that hammered "Sacramento politicians" for their approval of California's $68 billion high-speed rail project.

The current ad, in addition to criticizing the rail project, lambastes pay raises given to more than 900 legislative employees this year and the disclosure of nearly $54 million in hidden parks money.
.
"Sacramento politicians are threatening cuts to education and public safety unless you pay more taxes," Jon Coupal, president of the taxpayers group, says in the ad.
.
"These same politicians just gave hundreds of staffers pay raises. They approved the bullet train against the wishes of most Californians, and now, after Jerry Brown announced the closure of 70 state parks, we find out that the state parks department has been hiding $54 million. What else are they keeping from us? It's time to stop the deception politicians are using to force tax increases on the working people of California." (Sacramento Bee)

Disney "Bribes" the California Legislature

Legal Bribery - Disney gives $125,000 in free tickets to California legislators
  • The Legislature kills a bill this week that would have banned these "gifts".

QUESTION:  Is it a "bribe" when the legislature makes it legal?
.
Many California families save for months to afford a trip to Disneyland. But many California legislators go for free, courtesy of the Walt Disney Company.

Since 2000, Disney has given about $125,000 in theme park tickets to legislators and their aides, according to a Bee review of records kept by the California Secretary of State. At current prices, that's equivalent to about 1,500 free tickets reports the Sacramento Bee.

A bill that died in committee Thursday would have largely banned such gifts. (Search all gifts to legislators and aides using our updated database.)

Some legislators gave their free tickets to aides. Some passed them on to constituents who couldn't otherwise afford to go. Many legislators, though, just took their families to Disneyland.

This chart shows current and former legislators taking the most free Disney tickets since 2000.
