THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CALIFORNIA - This site is dedicated to exposing the continuing Marxist Revolution in California and the all around massive stupidity of Socialists, Luddites, Communists, Fellow Travelers and of Liberalism in all of its ugly forms.

"It was a splendid population - for all the slow, sleepy, sluggish-brained sloths stayed at home - you never find that sort of people among pioneers - you cannot build pioneers out of that sort of material. It was that population that gave to California a name for getting up astounding enterprises and rushing them through with a magnificent dash and daring and a recklessness of cost or consequences, which she bears unto this day - and when she projects a new surprise the grave world smiles as usual and says, "Well, that is California all over."

Mayors protest California becoming a Sanctuary State

Democrats Abandon American Citizens

  • Providing quality services for American citizens of all ethnic backgrounds means nothing to Democrats.
  • Protecting the citizens of other nations who break our laws is all that matters to them.
  • The main reason Democrats exist today is to import as many illegal aliens as possible to drive down wages for the business interests who fund their campaigns.

(ABC 10 News)  -  California is one step closer to becoming a Sanctuary State. Today, eight mayors in San Diego County protested Senate Bill 54 moving forward. Meanwhile, lawmakers continue to work on a second bill to help protect immigrant rights.
The proposal is to help immigrants in California fight against deportation. The bill would create a legal defense program regardless of the defendant's criminal background. Supporters say it would counter anti-immigrant rhetoric from the Trump administration.
A separate bill kept immigrant advocates and local mayors divided at a meeting on Wednesday. Mayors from Poway, El Cajon, Coronado, Escondido, La mesa, San Marcos, Santee and Vista say it would put residents at a risk of danger.

If SB54 passes, they say state and local law enforcement would not be able to notify federal agencies of dangerous criminals being released from jail.
Poway Mayor Steve Vaus says it prevents police officers from doing their jobs.
"Fundamentally, SB54 would sever the lines of communication between local law enforcement and state and federal agencies. Agencies that are charged with keeping us safe and making sure people follow the law. That's bad news," said Vaus.

"If you take away a street cops' radio and they lose communication, its bad. If you take away their communication with other agencies. That's bad too."

Supporters of the bill say it further feeds into discrimination that tears families apart.

SB54 needs two-thirds vote to pass.

L.A. Sheriff opposes “sanctuary state” bill, draws protests

Democrats Protect Law Breaking
Illegal Aliens

(Breitbart California)  -  Over 100 people gathered in front of the Hall of Justice in Downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday evening to protest L.A. County Sheriff Jim McDonnell’s opposition to State Senate Bill 54, which would declare all of California a “sanctuary state.”
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, protesters held up signs that read, “One struggle, united” and “We demand immigrant rights.”
David Abud, with the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, reportedly spoke over a loudspeaker against SB 54. He said McDonnell’s “argument is that if we don’t pass this, ICE is going to carpet-bomb our community with deportation. That is a ridiculous argument.”
Last month, 161 illegal aliens were arrested throughout Southern California by federal immigration authorities. (Some raids are reportedly ongoing.) The raids took place over the course of several days and resulted in the arrests of 680 illegal aliens across multiple states. That, in turn, upset many of the state’s Democratic lawmakers.
SB 54 was introduced by California State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) in December. In February, Breitbart News reported that de Léon said that “‘half his family’ was in the country illegally, using false documents, and eligible for deportation under President Trump’s new executive order against ‘sanctuary’ jurisdictions.”
According to the Daily News, McDonnell wrote to De León earlier this month: “SB 54 would not allow the safe transfer of custody; rather it would force immigration enforcement agents into our communities in order to search out and find the person they seek. While doing this, they will most surely cast a wide net over our communities, apprehending and detaining those not originally the target of the enforcement actions.”
Breitbart News reported that on Tuesday, newly re-elected L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti released a new set of protections for illegal aliens that cement the city’s status as a sanctuary city, and defy the Trump administration’s efforts to ensure compliance with federal law.

Democrats may exempt union members from paying taxes

"Corruptus in Extremis"

  • California teacher's unions pour countless millions in "legal bribes" into the campaign accounts of Democrats and in return they get the inside track to the State Treasury over all other groups.
  • Now the unions are pushing to have their bought and paid for lackeys in the legislature exempt them from paying taxes.

(KCBS) – In an effort to attract more people to teaching and keep educators in the profession, a California State Senate proposal would make teachers exempt from the state income tax.

If Senate Bill 807 is approved, teachers would have to stay on the job for five years to qualify for the state tax exemption.

SB807 would also provide a tax deduction for the cost of attaining a teaching credential.

The legislature has not yet calculated the estimated loss in tax revenue to the state if the measure is approved.

California is struggling to recruit and retain teachers as baby boomers retire and meager starting salaries do little to attract young people to the profession.

According to the California Teachers Association, nearly one in three teachers leave the profession in the first seven years.

This picture shows how much California is sinking

A Land of Crazy People

  • We keep building more water using homes, businesses and farms thinking water will "magically" appear on command.

(CNBC)  -  This picture from NASA's Earth Observatory shows how much land in California's Central Valley is sinking, due primarily to the drawing of groundwater during periods of drought.
Heavy rains have fallen on many parts of the state this winter, but the image above is a reminder of the lingering effects of drought, even in wetter times.
As the legend at the bottom of the picture suggests, the yellowest areas are those with the greatest degree of subsidence (the term for sinking land) and the bluest areas are those with the least.
As might be expected, the largest degree of subsidence occurred in southern California where the drought struck the hardest. In some places, the land sunk by nearly 30 feet.
California's Department of Water Resources commissioned NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to collect and analyze satellite data during the state's most recent drought, resulting in an initial report in 2015, and subsequent updates. The most recent shows land continued to sink since 2015, at a rate of as much as 2 feet per year in the worst spots.
"The rates of San Joaquin Valley subsidence documented since 2014 by NASA are troubling and unsustainable," DWR Director William Croyle is quoted saying in a recent post from NASA Earth Observatory. "Subsidence has long plagued certain regions of California. But the current rates jeopardize infrastructure serving millions of people. Groundwater pumping now puts at risk the very system that brings water to the San Joaquin Valley. The situation is untenable."
One of the problems that stems from the sinking land is that it fills in the underground gaps where groundwater collects when rain occurs, reducing storage capacity.
NASA also notes that state and federal water agencies have spent an estimated $100 million on related repairs since the 1960s.
The state passed its first-ever regulations around the pumping of groundwater in 2014.

Lawnmowers under attack by Democrats

Democrats attack lawnmowers,
not overpopulation
Clueless California Democrats ignore the real
cause of pollution - too many people.

(NPR)  -  Those gas-powered leaf blowers, hedge trimmers and mowers you hear in your neighborhood aren't just annoying — they make a lot of pollution, too.

In California, they're about to pass cars as the worst air polluters, spewing out formaldehyde, benzene and particulate matter. According to Michael Benjamin at the California Air Resources Board, in just three years' time, the biggest single ozone polluter in the state is going to be all this gardening equipment.

"We expect that ozone-contributing pollutants from small off-road engines will exceed those same emissions from cars around the 2020 time frame," Benjamin says.

"Unless ARB adopts more stringent controls, emissions from this category are going to really become much more significant relative to cars," he says.

California — which currently goes by federal standards for its emissions regulations of small off-road gas engines — is considering requiring tougher emissions standards for small gas engines and to offer major incentives for landscaping businesses to change over to electric.

David Clegern of the California Air Resources Board says he is unaware of any other states pursuing programs other than exchanges for residential lawn and garden equipment or of other states lobbying the federal Environmental Protection Agency to adopt more stringent standards.

Insane Politicians
Politicians take a non-polluted, pristine California and pave every possible inch of it over with endless housing tracts, malls and freeways. Tens of millions of new people are added and it is not stopping to this day.
kk
So instead of ending the mindless population growth and its resulting pollution the idiot political hacks attack lawnmowers as the problem.
.
And the Population Bomb keeps ticking.

Zero population growth is the answer, but I suspect we are 50 years too late.
