L.A. Becomes First U.S. City To Reach $6 Gas Average

(Armand's Rancho)  If there was ever an excellent decision I've ever made in life, moving out of California has to top the list.

Until early 2018, I lived in the Los Angeles community of Tarzana in the San Fernando Valley.

It has been reported that Los Angeles has become the first major U.S. city to reach a $6.00 average for gasoline.

According to Fox 13 Seattle:

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles on Tuesday became the first major city in the U.S. to reach an average gas price of $6 or more. 

That's according to fuel savings platform GasBuddy, which reported the national average gas price in the U.S. beginning to decline since its peak of $4.35 per gallon on March 10. 

However, that doesn't apply to California, where gas prices have continued to soar. 

Gas has risen steadily in the past few weeks due to rebounding oil prices amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, but also recent refinery issues in Southern California amid a rise in seasonal demand. 

GasBuddy says California also typically has some of the highest gas prices in the country because of high gas taxes and its cap and trade program, which assesses a premium based on emissions.

Cap and trade: Enacted by liberal Democrats. 

Who has a total stranglehold control of the California government? Liberal Democrats.

It appears the people of California got the government they wanted and deserve. They voted for liberal Democrats. This is the price the have to pay. You wanted your high prices, you got 'em!

(Gateway Pundit)  A new bill proposed by Democrat Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks (Oakland) would require ALL workers in California to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

The proposed legislation would mandate all California businesses to require their employees and independent contractors to be vaccinated against Covid unless the employee obtains an exemption for religious reasons or a medical reason.

California would mandate that all businesses require their employees and independent contractors to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under legislation announced Friday by Democratic state lawmakers that was immediately criticized by Republicans as government overreach.

Employees or contractors who qualify for medical or religious exemptions would have to be regularly tested under a planned amendment to the bill. New employees would have to get at least one dose by the time they start work and the second dose within 45 days of being on the job.

Assemblywoman Buffy Wicks introduced her bill months after delaying an original proposal last fall. The previous version would have allowed workers to submit to weekly testing as an alternative to getting vaccinated, but that is not an option in her new proposal.

The mandate would stay in place unless the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention decides that COVID-19 vaccinations are no longer needed.

The bill would require state health and occupational safety officials to advise employers on what qualifies as a medical condition, disability, religious belief and valid vaccination status. Businesses that didn’t comply would face penalties that have yet to be determined.

(Infowars)  In what would be a PR nightmare if Democrat politicians cared about their public image, California’s top politicians were spotted violating their own Covid mandates by gathering maskless indoors this weekend.

Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom and Democrat Mayors London Breed of San Francisco and Los Angeles’ Eric Garcetti were all photographed hugging NBA legend Magic Johnson while attending Sunday’s NFC Championship football game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

California is currently under a statewide mask mandate and the Los Angeles Rams stadium requires all guests, even those under 5-years-old, wear a mask at all times.

The Rams’ SoFi Stadium will also host the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks where all attendees will be given KN95 masks and will be asked to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours before the game.

Politicians and others online pointed out the blatant hypocrisy, such as California Republican Senator Melissa Melendez, who wrote, “Toddlers are being forced to wear masks all day long in school. This is Newsom’s 3rd emergency extension which will take the state past the two year mark under his emergency Covid order.

The California governor’s first Covid emergency order was declared March 4, 2020.

“Winter is coming. Winter is here,” Newsom said as he announced he’s extending emergency powers.

Newsom took off to Mexico for a $200,000 family vacation shortly after extending his emergency powers.

The Globe has received several photos and a now-removed Tweet from sources who were in Cabo San Lucas in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur over Thanksgiving at the same time California Gov. Gavin Newsom and his family vacationed.

The sources said the Newsoms stayed nearby at a $23,000 to $29,000 per night villa, La Datcha Cabo San Lucas villa, owned by Russian entrepreneur and businessman Oleg Tinkov. The sources said from their rental they could see the 10,000 to 12,000 square foot villa, and said it comes with two chefs, four to five servers, personal trainers, and the like.

“We were told the governor and his family were there,” one source said. “We could see him, and a blonde woman who looked like his wife, and kids, and another couple.”

Newsom’s press secretary told the California Globe that Gavin Newsom personally paid for the family vacation.

According to the source who spoke to the California Globe, Newsom invited locals to the villa for his own private fire show as entertainment.

Newsom’s office lashed out at the California Globe and demanded a retraction.

However, the California Globe obtained additional photos of Newsom in Cabo San Lucas:

On Wednesday morning, as the story began gathering steam on social media, the spokesperson declined to specify further and added, “Katy – I will repeat what I sent last night. I cannot provide the location due to security concerns. They rented a home.”

Newsom Vacations in Mexico After Extending California’s ‘State Of Emergency’

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom left for a Mexico vacation with his family Monday, roughly one week after extending California’s COVID-19 state of emergency.

Newsom left along with his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and their children, and will not return to California until Nov. 28. Newsom signed an executive order on Nov. 15 extending the COVID-19 emergency rules he initially put into place in March of 2020. The rules are now set to expire in March of 2022, unless they are extended once again.

Newsom’s administration has made California among the most stringent in the country when it comes to COVID-19 policy, becoming the first state in the country to mandate vaccines for all K-12 students in October.

(L.A. Times)  The first COVID-19 vaccinations have been given to children ages 5 to 11 Wednesday as health officials launched an ambitious rollout to offer shots to 3.5 million kids in California.

The Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup, a coalition of public health experts from California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, gave its green light to the vaccine Wednesday morning, formally clearing the way for vaccinations to be distributed in California. The move came after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended late Tuesday that more than 28 million children nationwide in that age group get the shots.

By midday, vaccinations were already going into the arms of 5- to 11-year-olds in Los Angeles County, and the L,A. County Department of Public Health website vaccinatelacounty.com was listing clinics offering the Pfizer-BioNTech shots for young children.
