(San Francisco Chronicle)  -  Governor Gavin Newson released new guidelines for the reopening of churches and other places of worship today.

Much like restaurants, services will depend on the size of the building — capacity will be capped at 25% or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is fewer.

The religious institutions are encouraged to provide personal protective equipment like gloves and masks to its staff and attendees. Everyone is encouraged to wear face masks and both congregants and staff should be screened for symptoms and have their temperatures checked before entering the building. Only those that live in the same household should sit together.

Markings to indicate six feet of distance between people are encouraged, as well as possible limited seating or alternating rows. Congregants are discouraged from greeting one another by shaking hands or hugging.

Other guidelines include safer protocols for practices like communion, including eliminating the use of a communal cup and providing pre-packed communion items on pews.

The 13-page document also suggests temporarily eliminating group performances and practices for organizations like a choir.

• POLICE STATE - The time is rapidly coming when we Peasants will not be allowed to teach at school, be a fireman or work in a restaurant unless we are pumped full of government mandated chemicals and have a tracking chip shoved up our asses. Remember, Big Brother says it's all about being "safe".

Gov. Gavin Newsom warned residents not to get too hopeful.

“We’re not going back to normal. It’s a new normal with adaptations and modifications, until we get to immunity and a vaccine,” the governor said Tuesday during a press briefing. 

“Millions of Californians answered the call to stay home and thanks to them, we are in a position to begin moving into our next stage of modifying our stay at home order,” Newsom said in a press release discussing the state’s efforts to head toward Phase 2 of reopening on Friday. “But make no mistake – this virus isn’t gone. It’s still dangerous and poses a significant public health risk. As we move into the next stage of reopening, we will do so with updated guidance to help qualifying businesses make modifications needed to lower the risk of COVID-19 exposure to customers and workers. Californians should prepare now for that second stage of reopening.”

LOS ANGELES-- Gov. Gavin Newsom directed California residents to a list of outdoor activities that the state said are still permissible during the shelter-in-place order, drawing ire on social media.

Newsom reportedly directed state residents to read the list that includes activities like: 

• Badminton (singles), 
• BMX biking, 
• gardening (not in groups), 
• car-washing
• tree climbing. 

The state still wants safe social distancing to be practiced.

“We want you to see sunsets,” Newsom said, according to SFGate. “We want you to enjoy activities outdoors.  What they don’t want is people congregating outside in large groups.”

The idea that the state would make a list to inform its residents that gardening is allowed did not sit well with many on social media. Residents in the state have been inside for weeks and some have already spoken out on what they see as a Sacramento overreach.

“I swear they made this list by watching a California tourism commercial,” one Twitter user posted. Another wrote, “California, today, released a list of activities that the Liberals in charge are allowing us citizens to do. The list includes ‘watching the sunrise and watching the sunset.’ How gracious of the all-powerful liberal leadership.”
